When we put in the call to Cathie Orr, Co-Owner of Willow Creek Natural Farms, requesting to shoot a documentary about her life as a modern-day farmer, we were met with a wonderfully disarming, warm and good humored woman. Willow Creek Natural is a fully-operational family farm, located approximately 50 miles Southeast of Sacramento, California.
The Independent Investigations Group or (IIG) as it's known by its hundreds of members throughout the United States was devised to do just that - to investigate and to think skeptically and critically about arcane claims. As it's own Mission Statement claims,
The IIG investigates fringe science, paranormal and extraordinary claims from a rational, scientific viewpoint, and disseminates factual information about such inquiries to the public.
For as one of it's own long-time members reminds us, it takes great effort, courage and practice to think critically, but in doing so, you have taken one step closer to the truth.
We made this promotional video for College Access Plan (CAP). Every year, we create a free video for a local nonprofit organization doing good work in the community. This year, we were lucky enough to find a Los Angeles-based non-profit service aggregator. Jericho Road is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization, pairing up local nonprofits with industry professional volunteers. We worked closely with CAP, in an effort to develop a succinct promotional video with a powerful message.

"No God at the Bottom of a Glass," tells the story of Jim Christopher and "S.O.S" (Secular Organizations for Sobriety). S.O.S. is the brain child of Jim's own struggle with alcohol abuse. Jim tried everything to get sober, Gestalt Therapy, in-house treatment centers, and finally....Alcoholic's Anonymous. But, for Jim, an adamant secularist, A.A.'s spiritual bent was off-putting, and so he continued his struggle with an alcohol addiction on his own, until finally, he developed his own program of recovery - S.O.S, one that did not require turning one's "will and life over to a higher power". That was nearly 35 years ago.
"No God..." was a selection for the 2016 International Freethought Film Festival in Orlando, FL.
"Brazen Conversations," tells the story of Monica Gresser, Co-Owner of Brazen Architecture in Las Vegas, NV. Monica and her team at Brazen partner with many local organizations, offering pro-bono planning and infrastructure to help meet the needs of the growing homeless population, off "The Strip". Las Vegas is currently ranked #1 in homeless youth in the nation. "Brazen Conversations" is the recipient of a 2018 Davey Award.
